Shalom equine Horsemanship

ABOUT us
Shalom Equine was Theadene’s dream as a 14-year-old, dreaming big with one of her best friends Marna Weilbach. They just had no idea how it would grow. In December 2010, it became a reality with the help of family and friends, and the first horse riding camp was held. Oom Dawie Spies from Manne van die Woord, also came to share a message to the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The name started as Shalom Perdrykampe, but changed to Shalom Equine and then to Shalom Equine Horsemanship as the services expanded. The word shalom in the name was inspired by the fact that Theadene could use the letters out of the first people that helped her with the names of the first camps to spell shalom and also the meaning of shalom which is completeness, wholeness, health, peace, welfare, safety, soundness, tranquillity, prosperity, perfectness, fullness, rest, harmony, and the absence of agitation or discord. Shalom comes from the root verb shalom meaning to be complete, perfect and full (Strong's Concordance, 7965). Our prayer is that everyone who receives a service at Shalom Equine Horsemanship will experience shalom. The Equine part derives from the scientific name of horses, Equus caballus.
